Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] Eye Solution

Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] is an eye solution which is beneficial in the treatment of eye allergies. The active ingredient of this ophthalmic solution is azelastine hydrochloride. This anti- allergic drug belongs to a group of medicines which are termed as antihistamines. It is also useful in the treatment of itching of the eye when is associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] is an antihistamine which functions by hindering the effects in the body of certain natural substances like the chemical histamine. Histamines are substances that are responsible for the production of allergic symptoms.
This medication should not be used in people who are allergic to any of the contents of this medicine. Restrict the intake of alcoholic beverages, while consuming Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride]. This medicine is to be used as an ophthalmic solution rather than oral intake or intake through injections.
Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] is indicated only for the use of eye complaints and fails to be indicated as an injection or for oral use. In the absence of a consultation of your physician, no other eye medicine should be used during the treatment with this anti-allergic drug. If the eyes get red because of using Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] then, contact lenses should be avoided. Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] is available as Optivar 6 mL and as Optivar 0.2 mL.
If a dose of Optivar [Azelastine hydrochloride] is missed then, immediately take the missed dose but in case time for the next dose is approaching then the missed dose can be skipped and the regular dosing routine can be continued. Do not provide with 2 doses. Overdosing is to be avoided. In case of overdose, medical help is to be taken.
